with buttons for teletext. What is teletext?
A: Teletext is a function that is not available in the US or Canada. Teletext
only works in countries that have PAL and SECAM television systems.
Q: Why doesn't the image fill the screen? I
have black areas on either side of the image!
A: (For wide screen displays only).Currently most television programming
is in the 4:3 aspect ratio. When you display this 4:3 image on a 16:9
screen there will be black areas on either side. This is normal. If you
would like to fill the whole screen push the "scaling" button
on your remote. The scaling function will expand the 4:3 image to fit
onto the 16:9 screen.
Q: Why doesn't the image fill the screen? I
have black areas on the top and bottom of the image!
A: (For wide screen displays only). This monitor/LCDTV has an aspect ratio of 16:9.
The most likely cause of this problem is DVD playback of movies that are
presented in other aspect ratios like 1.85:1 or 2.35:1. This is normal.
If you would like to fill the whole screen push the "scaling"
button on your remote. The scaling function will expand the image to fit
onto the 16:9 screen.
Q: I connected my progressive scan DVD player
to the monitor/LCDTV and there is no image. What is wrong?
A: Check that your Progressive DVD player is sending a progressive signal
to the LCDTV. Also for the LC3000w check that you connected the output
cables to the YPbPr connection. If you connected the signal to the YCrCb
input progressive scan will not work. Reconnect it to the YPbPr input
terminal. For the LCS series displays progressive scan signals can be connected to the VGA connector via an optional VGA to component cable. Progressive scan signals will not work via the component video input (via 8p din) connection. Please use the VGA connector as described previously. The 8p DIN component connection can only accept interlaced signals.
Q: If I let my monitor/LCDTV on for a long period of
time will this damage the screen?
A: No. Unlike plasma TV's, this LCD-TV will not burn in and the image
will not get less bright over time. If you will be using an LCS series monitor in a digital signage application with static images we recommend that you insert a full white image followed by a full black image for a 1 second duration each every 2 hours or so. This will keep the LCD screen functioning at its peak perfromance without any image retention artifacts.

can I override the system to get access to all the channels?
A: Enter "00000" when prompted for the password.
Q: I know that there are more channels available
on my Cable system. Why can't I see all of them?
A: If you are asking about premium channels
well we cannot help you
there. You need to use the cable box, which is available from you cable
service provider, in order to receive premium channels. If you are asking
about regular channels then use the "auto fine tune" function
located in the "TV" menu. Activating "auto fine tune"
will perform a search for all available channels on your system and program
them into the TV.

this monitor/LCDTV. Is this possible?

A: This LCDTV is only as good as the source. Many times the CableTV signal
is split to follow different paths to your bedroom, kitchen, family room
etc.. Each split degrades the signal somewhat. Also the length and quality
of the routing cable can have an affect on the screen image. Make sure
that you have the cleanest signal and shortest path going to the LCDTV.
Q: Can I receive HDTV programming on these LCDTV's?
A: Yes. The LCDTV's are HDTV capable which means, that they can display
HDTV signals. In order to receive off air HDTV signals or HD programming
from you cable you must obtain an HDTV tuner. The LC2700w and the LC3000w TV's come with a built
in NTSC Tuner. The LC3210w is equiped with both and NTSC and ATSC Tuners. With the LC3210w you will be able to tune in off-air HDTV programming.
